Montenegrin tennis player Danka Kovinic said that playing for her country is a great honor and that it is currently her primary objective. Kovinic signed an Olympic scholarship contract today, which was provided by the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, with the help of the Olympic Solidarity Fund of the International Olympic Committee. "The Rio de Janeiro experience was fantastic and I'm sure I will be part of the Montenegrin Olympic team at the Games in Tokyo. Playing for my country is an honor and for me it is a primary objective. I am grateful for the support of the MOC and the Tennis Federation because it gives me the strength to fight even harder and to train to achieve my goal." said Kovinic after signing the contract in the Montenegrin Olympic Committee (MOC). MOC's President Dusan Simonovic confirmed that Kovinic will receive full support in order to better prepare and obtain her visa for Tokyo. "In addition to this scholarship, MOC will provide support and do everything within its capabilities to assist Kovinic in the coming period in cooperation with the Tennis Association, as well as all other athletes who have the abilities to find themselves in the next Olympic Games. MOC believes in Danka and expects that she ranks amont the top 20 players in the world in the coming period, which is where an athlete of her caliber belongs." said Simonovic. Athletes Slađana Perunović, Kristina Rakocevic and Marija Vukovic, karatekas Marina Rakovic and Mario Hodzic, tennis player Danka Kovinic, sailor Milivoj Dukic and judokas Danilo Pantic and Nikola Gardasevic, have all received monthly scholarships in the amount of 670 dollars per month. "The scholarship will last until August 2020, in the amount of $670. This scholarship can be terminated earlier if the athlete loses every possibility to gain an Olympic qualifying standard.
