The spectacular opening of the summer EYOF "Gyor 2017" announced the beginning of the most significant European multisport manifestation for over 2,500 young athletes aged 14 to 18, from 50 European countries. Competitions in 10 Olympic sports (athletics, gymnastics, swimming, kayaking, cycling, judo, tennis, handball, volleyball and basketball) at EYOF will continue until July 29th. The opening was marked by the Dance Company of the National Theater of Gyor, the Ballet Company of Gyor, young performers from the Young Talents of the Virtuozok talent show, The Biebers, Adrien Banhegyi, the Gyor Philharmonic Orchestra, the Kerekes Band and the Vaskakas Puppet Theater. Montenegro will present its 17 athletes at this year's EYOF, which include women's cadet handball team and judo player Ivana Nikolic, who was honored to carry the national flag at the opening ceremony. The official opening of the EYOF was attended by the Ambassador of Montenegro to Hungary, Aleksandar Mostrokol, who wished our athletes a lot of success in the competitions. Out of our athletes, the first to the court is the young handball team of Montenegro, which will face the national team of Russia on July 24th. The game starts at 7:30 pm. Our group also includes Denmark and France. On the other hand, Group A consists of Norway, Netherlands, Romania and Hungary. Judoka Nikolic will perform in category up to 40 kg, on July 25th.
