Through the promotion of the Olympic values, sportsmanship, healthy lifestyle and encouragement of physical activity, MOC celebrated the International Olympic Day today, in Niksic and Berane. Multiple sport clubs attended the events held in these two Montenegrin cities: FC "Rudar", BC "Sutjeska", HC "Trebjesa", JC "Akademik", BC "Onogost", AC "Sutjeska", VC "Sutjeska", Women VC "Niksic", Triathlon club "Niksic", kindergarten "Dragan Kovacevic", Mountaineering and Skiing Association "Javorak", Youth Club "CK", TC "Sutjeska", BC "Zarko Mijatovic", Club of military mountaineers "Kapetan", Para-cycling club "Fles" from Niksic, as well as Table tennis clubs "Budimlja", "Buda" and "Ivangrad"; Shooting alliance "Berane", BC "Lim", YBC "Ivangrad 2016", YFC "Berane", women FC "Cvetex", JC "Berane" and AC "Lim" from Berane. On this occasion, President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Dusan Simonovic stated that the goal of the Olympic Movement is to contribute to building a peaceful and better world, which, it seems, has never been more important. "Olympism is a life philosophy that promotes the spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play, with mutual understanding. I hope this idea will contribute to overcoming this unstable period for worlds' society." The International Olympic Committee was officially established on 23 June 1894, which is why this date was chosen as the International Olympic Day, and is marked by the National Olympic Committees since 1948.
