Games of the Small States of Europe have been officially concluded in San Marino, following the closing ceremony and the symbolic transfer of the flag to the next host, Montenegro. The President of San Marino's Olympic Committee, Gian Primo Giardi, handed the flag to the president of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Dusan Simonovic, symbolically handing over the arrangement of the Games to Montenegro. Simonovic thanked the hosts, friends from the Olympic Committee of San Marino and wished a warm welcome to Montenegro for everyone. For the past five dayes over a thousand athletes have participated the event, which gathers countries with less than a million inhabitants, and which, in its character, has all the qualities of the Olympic spirit and competitive passion. Similar enthusiasm, if not greater, is expected to arise in two years' time in Montenegro, from May 27 to June 1, 2019.
