GSSE San Marino 2017: 15 medals for Montenegro at the end of Day 2

After two days of competition, the Montenegrin team managed to obtain 15 medals – 8 gold, two silver and five bronze medals.

On the second day of the Games of the Small States in San Marino, the Montenegrin judo team won eight, and the bowls and table tennis players won two medals each.

Judo

All eight of our judokas climbed on the podium.

The gold medals were won by Danilo Pantic (-100 kg), Marko Bubanja (-90 kg), Arso Milic (-81 kg), Elma Licina (-52 kg) and Ivana Sunjevic (-63 kg).

Silver went to Balsa Sinanovic (-73 kg), while the bronze medals were given to Jusuf Nurkovic (-66 kg) and Jovana Pekovic (-70 kg).

Bowls

Bowls player Miroslav Petkovic won his second gold medal in San Marino.

He won in a final match today, against Florian Valeri of Monaco.

Petkovic beat Milanovic earlier in the semi-final match, who in the battle for third place celebrated against Giani Bresciano from Monaco.

Table Tennis

The men's and women's tabletennis team of Montenegro did not manage to qualify for the finals, but have secured bronze medals yesterday.

Filip Radovic and Luka Bakic were defeated in the semi-finals by Luxembourg 3:2.

Table tennis players Snezana Culafic and Ivona Petric lost against Malta in the semi-final duel 3:1.

Basketball

The basketball team won today against Andorra 90:49 (27:22, 23:8, 21:13 and 18:6), in the second round match.

This is the second triumph of the Montenegrin basketball players after they celebrated yesterday against Luxembourg 79:57.

Archery

Montenegrin archers Milan Borovic and Mina Sibalic were defeated by Luxembourg in the semi-finals of the pair competition.

They will fight against Iceland in a battle for medal, on Friday,

Shooting

Our representative in shooting, Jelena Pantovic, finished her performance in fifth, in the discipline air gun, even though she was the best in the qualification rounds. She hit 167.8 points in the final.

Swimming

The swimmer Bosko Radulovic was eight in the final of the 100 meter Butterfly race was eighth, with a time of 58.09 seconds.

In qualifications, he had a much better time – 57.68 seconds, which is his personal record.

Beach Volleyball

Volleyball players Andrej Bojic and Marko Bagaric were defeated today by Genildo da Silva Prado and Xavier Folguera Estruga from Andorra 2:0 (21:13 and 21:12), in the second round of the beach volleyball tournament.

This is their second defeat in group A, after they lost yesterday against San Marino 2:0.
