On August 23rd 2013, the United Nations have, along with the International Olympic Committee, declared April 6th for the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. Montenegrin Olympic Committee, in cooperation with the international organization "Peace and Sport", celebrated the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace this year. By using social networks, with the help of athletes, MOC marked this day through the campaign called the White Card. The idea behind this movement is to have the affirmed athletes and sport workers photographed with white card, and the photos posted on social networks with hashtags #WhiteCard and #IDSDP2017. White card symbolizes the opposite of a red card, which is one of the most serious offenses in sport, and white color itself is a symbol of peace and purity. It is expected that about 170 National Olympic Committees will mark the 6th of April, the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. Sport in itself should not be a goal, but a tool for education, development and peace; to promote cooperation, solidarity, tolerance, understanding, inclusion and health at the local, national and international level.
