The hosts presented the cultural and natural wealth of their country, mixed with musical rhythms which are characteristic for this colorful country. At the end, the Olympic flag was handed over to the representatives of Tokyo, host city of the next Games in 2020. "We organized the most important event in the world at this magical place. All Brazilians and Brazilians are the Olympic heroes. I'm proud of them, of my city and my country", said Carlos Nuzman, the President of the Organizing Committee of Olympic Games Rio 2016. "You have many reasons to be proud of. You were a true example of the unification of diversity. We came as guests, but leave as your friends", said Thomas Bach, the President of the International Olympic Committee, before he officially declared the Olympics as closed.
