Our best water polo team finished the 2016 Olympic Games in fourth place, for the third consecutive time. In the battle for bronze, Montenegro lost to Italy 12:10. It could have been different, many times the luck was allied with our rivals, but it has to be said that the victory of the Italian team is well deserved. "I think we played a good Olympic tournament, besides to the match against Croatia in the semifinals. Against Italy we entered the match well, but hardly in any game it's possible that more shots from opponents enter after a block or an impact to the head, and that so many of our shots finished on the frame of the goal", said national coach Vladimir Gojkovic. "Sorrow is great, to be third for the fourth time – a huge disappointment. But what can we do, there is no reason to say something bad, because we have worked mercilessly, did everything we can at this point", said Milos Scepanovic.
