The Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro were opened last night at the legendary stadium Maracanã, in front of 76,000 spectators . At the athletes' parade, the Montenegrin delegation comprising of 34 people was led by our handball player Bojana Popovic, who carried the flag. In addition to the women's handball team, Montenegro will be represented by water polo team, followed by a tennis player Danka Kovinic, judoka Srdjan Mrvaljevic, athletes Sladjana Perunovic and Danijel Furtula, sailor Milivoj Dukic and swimmers Maksim Inic and Jovana Terzic . During the opening ceremony at the stadium, viewers around the world were able to enjoy a nice, warm, but not overly spectacular ceremony, which was organized by the hosts . We were able to get acquainted with the past and the present of Brazil, the culture of the country, but also global issues facing the planet Earth. Olympic flame was lit by Vanderlei Lima, former marathon runner.
