Tbilisi EYOF 2015 officially closes

The 13th European Youth Festival (EYOF) was officially closed this evening at the Tbilisi's sports village.

The program began with the medal awards in team sports: handball, basketball and volleyball, followed by a flag parade of the 50 participating countries and a brief cultural program. Finally, close to 4,000 participants enjoyed the fireworks and their farewell party.

The flag of Montenegro was carried by Jovana Pekovic, who won a silver medal in judo.

Earlier today, Montenegrin women's handball team has taken 7th place in the overall standings, by winning Georgia 26:15.

EYOF is held every two years, and brings together the best young European athletes, ages up to 17, who compete in nine Olympic sports: athletics, cycling, swimming, tennis, gymnastics, judo, basketball, handball and volleyball.

The Hungarian city of Győr will host the next summer games in 2017.
