The competitions in athletics at the European games are scheduled for Sunday and Monday, as a part of the Old continent's team tournament in third division. Montenegrin selection is very large, almost all female disciplines are covered except Pole Vault, but ambitions are humble. – We had made our finest result last year, by being 9th among 15 countries, and I would be happy if we are to repeat that. It is good we are here in full strength, we have brought many young athletes and for them this is a huge and unforgettable experience – said coach Osman Erovic. Sladjana Perunovic will be competing in 3,000 and 5,000 runs as well as 4 x 400m Relay. – It will be very difficult, but I will give it my best to bring as much points as possible. My goal is, however, to fulfill the Olympic norm in marathon – said Perunovic. Luka Rakic has recently improved on his record on 100m by 17 hundreds of a second, on a competition in Slovenia, which now is 10.55. – Everything under 10.50 is a serious result in Europe. I am hoping to advance further, to lower that limit, maybe already here at the European games – said Rakic.
