Andjela Popovic has finished her competition at the European games in Baku, by being defeated twice. At the start she lost against the Olympic champion Milica Mandic 11:1, but got another chance in repechage as Mandic advance to the final. She met against a Spanish competitor Rosanna Simon-Alamo and lost 6:1. – Both matches were tough, especially the one against Milica Mandic. I didn't do my best, especially against the Spaniard. I could have done a lot better, but I lost my concentration in the last round and could not make a comeback – said 19-year old Popovic.
