Today, President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Dušan Simonović and President of the Russian Olympic Committe, Alexander Zhukov have signed an Agreement in Sochi (Russia) which formalizes cooperation between these sport institutions. Presidents of the two Olympic Committees agreed that it is necessary to develop bilateral cooperation in order to promote fundamental principles and values of Olympism, defending rights and legitimacy of athletes, coaches and other experts from sports included in the Olympic Charter of IOC, as well as development of mass and top sports on territories of both countries. As for future joint projects, for the development of Montenegrin sport will be most important expert assistance of russian sports experts, while Russian side is interested in possibilities for preparation of their athletes in Montenegro. President Simonović is in Sochi because of the meeting of Presidents of National Olympic Committees and Ministers of Sport from Baltic countries and easter Europe, where will, among Alexander Zhukov, President of the Russian Olympic Committee and Vice Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, also be present Dmitry Chernyshenko, President of the Organisational Committee of the Sochi Olympic Games2014, Vitaly Mutko Minister of Sport, Tpourism and Youth of Russia and other high ranged officials from the Russian Federation, sports institutions of the Olympic Movement. Sochi is getting ready for the forthcoming Winter Olympic Games, and participants of the conference will have an opporunity tomorrow to wisit sports facilities where athletes will compete for the Olympic medals in 2014.
