Today at the MOC offices, President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee organized reception for participants of the European Summer Special Olympic Games Warsaw 2010. At the reception were present participants of the Special Olympic Games (students of the “1. June” Center in Podgorica) Milica Vukčević, Vesna Vujačić, Željko Đukić and Fikret Pupović, as well as National Director of the Special Olympic Games Montenegro – Dejan Pančić and professor Aleksandar Vuksanović who is also their coach. At the Games in Poland competed 1600 competitors from 56 European states and students from Montenegro won 3 medals: – Fikret Pupović won gold medal in athletics in 100m race – Violeta Vujačić won silver medal in athletics in 100m race – Jadranka Jokić won bronze medal in table tennis (single). As participants said, they are very satisfied with their participation at the Special Olympic Games and they are full of great impressions from Poland. President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee said that participation at this and similar international events, besides competitive, have also educational, social, medical character. President of MOC congratulated on exceptional results at the European Summer Special Olympic Games and wished for success in future competitions. Next competition will be World Games of the Special Olympics in Greece 2011. In his short speech, the President of MOC introduced participants of the Special Olympics to history of Olympism, way of functioning of the National Olympic Committee and the International Olympic Committee and about the Olympic Movement itself, which were topics of their interest. Montenegrin Olympic Committee donated to participants of the European Sumer Special Olympic Games Warsaw 2010, sport equipment and two computers that will be very helpful in their further education.
