On 13th April, in organization of Montenegrin Olympic Committee was held meeting with representatives of Montenegrin sport associations, whose athletes will participate in forthcoming Mediterranean games in Pescara (26. June – 5. July). This meeting was chaired by President of Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Dušan Simonović, Chef de Mission, Miodrag Ivanović and Attache, Boris Sekulić. In its first participation in Mediterranean Games, Montenegro compete in 18 sports (waterpolo, basketball, table tennis, shooting, tennis, bowling, judo, paraolympic sports, football, karate, sailing, gymnastcs, boxing, athletics, wrestling, handball, volleyball and kayak). On yesterdays, very constructive meeting, word was about many technical matters regarding trip, competition and organization of stay in Pescara. Main topic was quota for athletes participants of the Ganes, as well as about quota for staff – coaches, referees and doctors. All in all, in relation between MOC and sport associations, all important details regarding Pescara 2009. are agreed, except for details which will be defined by the end of this week. At Mediterranean Games, Montenegrin delegation will have around 150 members, including staff, with 110 athletes. Next meeting about this important competition, with great nujber of Montenegrin athletes, will be held in the middle of May. As it was said yesterday, Mediterranean Games are very important for our sport, both as opportunity for measuring strenght of our athletes accompanied by big sport forces, such are those from Mediterranean area, and as possibility for better positioning of our associations in their International fedreations. In Pescara will compete athletes from 23 countries in 29 sports.
