On 9th April, selector of Montenegrin water polo national team, PetarPorobić visited Monteengrin Olympic Committee and its President DušanSimonović. During the meeting, special attention was dedicated to development perspectives of Montenegrin water polo teams, especially in context of participation in next Olympic Games in London 2012, and other big international water polo competitions. Simonović and Porobić takled about our young national water polo team, current European champions who are considered to be our hopes in future of water polo and sport in general. Through MOC, Water polo Association of Montenegro received grant form the International Olympic Committee in amount of 100.000 US dollars for period until beginning of the Olympic Games in London, which is not overall amount directed towards this Association for this purpose, as Simonović said. Stressing that this meeting was of great importance for future agreements on obligations of both sides, Porobić said that European Championchip title of our senior water polo national team raises overall rating of Montenegrin sport, but also requires special engagement. – We are expected to invest in organisation of big events. We are obliged to organise World League finals, which will be test of our capabilities, but at the same time opportunity to meet FINA officials and improve our status in international sport. On today's meeting word was about Porobić's plans, since he currently lives and works in Moscow. Having in mind current situation, our selector will stay in Russia. – There is initiative comming from many sides – Montenegrin Olympic Committee, line Ministry, as well as from Water polo Association for my return to Monteengro. Unfortunately, I don't recognise this initiative among Water polo clubs, said Porobić during todays meeting in MOC. On todays meeting was also present Dejan Adžić, Secretary General of Water polo and Swimming Association of Montenegro.
