Executive Board of Montenegrin Olympic Committee on its session from 30. March, chaired by President Dušan Simonović, initiated amendmends and changes of the Statutes of this sport ogranization. By next session of the Assembly of MOC to be held in July this year, Statutary Commission will make these changes in accordance with standards of the International Olympic Committee. On this session were adopted balance sheet for last year and financial plan of Montenegrin Olympic Committee for this year. Report was adopted on participation of Montenegrin athletes in winter European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) held in Polish town Slask Beskidi from 15. to 20. February. To remind, in that important event Montenegro had two representatives in Alpine ski. Chefs de Mission of forthcoming summer EYOF to be held in Finland, Tampere from 18. to 24. July, Mediterranean Games in Pescara and Winter Olympic Games 2010 in Vancouver, submitted reports on preparations for participation of Montenegrin representatives in these three sport events. On wider list for participation in summer EYOF, there are 12 young Montenegrin athletes so far. Executive Board adopted proposal for establishing Sport Commission whose task will be formulation and monitoring of preparations of our representatives in important sport events organised under the Olympic sign. Considering present situation, in Mediterranean Games in Pescara, first one Montenegro will participate in, our country should be represented by 106 athletes in 19 sports. On todays session was stressed that preparations of athletes should be payed by their associaations, while travel expenses and accomodation are responsibility of MOC. Chief of Marketing in MOC, Ranko Jovović, reminded that sponsorship negotiations with eminent Italian manufacturer of sport equipment LEGE, are in final stage. In case negotiations turn out to be successsful, our athletes will wear their equipment in all these competitions. In this moment, Montenegrin Olympic Committee has 12 requests from sport associations for membership in MOC. These association will have to wait for the new Statutes of MOC to be adopted, which will redefine rules for acception into membership of sport associations.
