US Ambassador in Montenegro, RoderickMoore, visited Montenegrin Olympic Committee on 26. March, where he met with President of MOC DušanSimonović. Simonović intorduced to Ambassador Moore activities and plans of MOC and expresses interest for establishment of closer cooperation of Montenegrin and US Olympic Committees. Ambassadro Moore supported initiative of Mr. Simonović and announced support from his Embassy, including his personal support, to strenghtening of cooperation with US Olympic Committee and sport associations of some US states. In that sense was also stressed possibility for cooperation with the State of Maine, with which Montenegro intesively cooperates within the Programme of State partnership. Ambassador Moore and President of MOC, Simonović also talked about activities of the International Olympic Committee related to inclusion of new sports in programme of Olympic Games. In that context, Ambassador Moore mentioned idea that national sport of USA – baseball shouls become part of the Olympic family. Also, word was about programme “Basketball diplomacy” in frames of which US Embassy plans to organise basketball camp in Montenegro together with Georgetown University from Washington.
