On 13th March, President of Montenegrin Olympic Committee DušanSimonović welcomed Russian Ambassador in Podgorica, JakovGerasimov and Advisor-Consul in the Embassy, SergejPetrukovič. Ambassador Gerasimov pointed out that Russian and Montenegrin relations are developing in different areas, including culture and sport. – We are interested in cooperation development between our Olympic Committees and I hope that soon there will be a meeting between presidents of our Olympic Committees, said Ambassador of Russian Federation. He specified that Russian side is interested in possibility for their athletes to come to Montenegro for conditional preparations, while Montenegrin athletes can benefit from visit to Russian sports camps and joint work with athletes from Russian Federation – We have to establish direct contacts in area of sport, such as those already existing in other areas, said President Simonović, stressing that this visit sends clear signal to Montenegrin sport workers and Associations that this kind of cooperation is desirable and possible.
