International Olympic Committee has announced iniciation of process for candidature for host of the first Youth Winter Olympic Games 2012. Letters have been sent to all National Olympic Committees informing them about this issue. Deadline for application is 6. March. List of candidates will be shortened by the Executive Committee of the IOC, while members of the IOC will vote in November. The winner will be announced in December. In the programme of the first Winter Olympic games will be seven sports, with limited number of disciplines. It is expected that around 1.000 young athletes aged between 14 and 18 will participate in it. Last Monday IOC has chosen Moscow and Singapore as finalists among which members of the IOC will elect host of the first Youth Winter Olympic Games 2010. The winner will be announced on 21. February.
