President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committe Dušan Simonović and Secretary General Đorđije Kustudić, payed a three day visit to the Internationa Plympic Committe in Lausanne, following invitation from Director of the IOC NOC Relations Department, Pere Miro. Aim of this visit was presentation of projects of the MOC for the Olympic Solidarity programmes, designed for preparations for the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008, and analysis of what has been done so far in establishment of quality cooperation between the IOC and the Montenegrin Olympic Committee. Miro and Simonović determined that for the short time since the MOC became member of the Olympic family, it has made very quality communication with national olympic committees of the region and Europe. Representatives of the the IOC stressed that the Montenegrin Olympic Committee was recognised as one of the most active national committee regarding cooperation with office of the IOC in Lausanne. Simonović and Kustudić have presented in detail to representatives of the IOC results of Montenegrin sport, and the fact that Montenegro in this moment has 15 qualified athletes for the Olympic Games in Beijing was rated as geart success. Main request of the MOC towards the Olympic Solidarity – financial support por preparation of Montenegrin water polo national team and scholarships for evident and potential Olympic candidates, were resolved in positive way, and after finishing some necessary and short administration procedure, those projects will be realised. As a support to hitherto work, and future projects for 2009 -2012. period, in Lausanne was announced visit of the high delegation of the IOC to the Montenegrin Olympic Committee in the first half of the next year. BOX: Invitation to participate at the OG in Beijing During the stay of the MOC delegation in Lausanne, president Simonoviću was officialy delivered invitation from the IOC for participation of Montenegrin athletes at the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008. It says in english and french languages: "International Olympic Committee has an honour to invite the Montenegrin Olympic Committee to participate at XXIX Olympic Games to be held in Beijing from 8. to 24. Also, during the visit of Simonović and Kustudić, in front of the headquarters of the IIOC in Lausanne,on the pole next to the Olympic flag was placed Montenegrin national flag.
