TONIGHT AT 20 HOURS IN BELGRADE WILL BE HELD OPENING CEREMONY Montenegrins on the EYOF Montenegrin representatives on this year's nineth EYOF, European Youth Olympic Festival, 22 of them, with companions and doctor Mira Dašić, arrived in Belgrade last night after eight o'clock. Most of them left yesterday morning with the special ultramodern bus from the Hotel “Podgorica”. Two judists, three athletes and one table tennis player joined them in Ribarevine, while three table tennis players arrived directly from Bratislava, from the European Table-Tennis Championship for Cadets anf Juniors. As we were informed by the Chef de Mission of the EYOF, Peđa Marsenić, trip from Podgorica to Belgrade and Student Town and Olympic Village by bus, went in the best possible way. Out of 11 sports represented on this summer edition of the EYOF (judo, athletics, tennis, table tennis, swiming, gymnastics, cycling, waterpolo, basketball, volleyball and handball), Montenegrin representatives will compete in five – judo, athletics, tennis, table tennis and swimming. In judo, Montenegro will be represented by five boys and four girls. In category to 50 kg Miloš Mirović, to 55 kg Emir Pepeljak, to 60 kg Stefan Lučić, to 73 kg Suad Šabanović and in category to 90 kg Damir Maršić. In women judo, we will be represented by Milica Drecun, in category to 44 kg, Anđela Dedić to 48 kg, Valentina Gardašević to 52 kg and Milena Peković to 57 kg. We have five athletes in EYOF – Slavica Leković (shot put and javelin throw), Jovana Kljajević (200 and 400m),Dane Žegarac (800 m), Momir Matović (400 m) and Edin Čindrak (200 and 400 m). In swimming we are represented by Katarina Đorđević, 100 m breast stroke and Milica Marković 50m free style and 200 m medley swimming. Our tennis players are Mia Radulović and Ljubomir Čelebić. In table tennis, we have four competitors – Irfan Čepić, Branko Cubović, Snežana Ćulafić and Snežana Rogić. As a reminder, all of them, except for Cubović, who will join them tomorrow in Bijelo Polje, are arriving to Belgrade from Bratislava, the European Table-Tennis Championship for Cadets anf Juniors. Opening ceremony of the EYOF will be held in "Arena" Hall on New Belgrade on 22. July. Montenegrin representatives are accommodated in the fourth pavilion, together with representatives from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Andorra, Armenia, Switzerland and Luxembourg. This is the first international sports event under the Olympic sign (under the patronage of the European Olympic Committee), on which Montenegro has its representatives. Blegrade is expected to host around 3.500 young athletes from 49 European countries. Montenegro became 49th country member of the European Olympic Committee by enetering the membership of the Intrenational Olympic Committee (205th member). Opening ceremony of the EYOF will be held in "Arena" Hall on New Belgrade, tonight at 20 hours. Competitions will start tomorrow, 23rd July, except in judo, cycling and gymnastics, starting on 24th and ending on Friday 27th July.
