Montenegrin water polo players will play in the quarterfinals at the Olympic tournament in Tokyo. Team selected by Vladimir Gojkovic has won a match against Kazakhstan 19:12 in the fourth round of Group B and, thanks to the victory of Spain against Australia (16:5), secured their spot among the top eight. The most efficient were Aleksandar Ivovic, Drasko Brguljan and Miroslav Perkovic who scored four times, Marko Petkovic scored twice, while Uros Cuckovic, Dusan Matkovic, Dusan Banicevic, Vlado Popadic and Stefan Vidovic each scored once. This is the second triumph of Montenegrin water polo players after they beat Australia (15:10) in the first round. They also suffered defeats from Spain (8:6) and Croatia (13:8). On Monday at 7am, Montenegro is scheduled to play against Serbia in the last round of this phase of competition.
