The Montenegrin Olympic Committee begins with the implementation of the "Train with the Olympians" project on March 17. It is a project aimed at promoting sports and Olympism, as well as educating the youngest population on the importance of sports and the value of sports. In the next two months, our “caravan” with our celebrated athletes will visit 23 primary schools in all parts of Montenegro, and girls and boys aged 12 to 15 will have a unique opportunity to meet and practice with medal winners and participants of the greatest sports competitions. These students, instead of a regular PE class, will have a class with two MOC instructors and one or more Olympians, who will have a slightly different class with motivational speeches, various games, etc. "Our experienced coaches will be lecturers, and our Olympians will introduce themselves to children, talk about how they have reached Olympic heights and how children could follow in their footsteps," said Dusan Simonovic, president of the MOC. "This, in a way, is the continuation of the “Play for your team – play for your school” project, which the MOC completed with the support of Jugopetrol JSC and ECO fuel stations, where 11 primary schools received sports equipment," said Simonovic. "This, we think, is a great promotion of sports values, and I reckon we will send a nice message, and for the children, this will be a memorable event," said Igor Vusurovic, secretary-general of the MOC. In addition to promotional activities, the MOC will, within the "Train with the Olympians" project donate balls for handball, basketball, volleyball and football to schools. The "Train with the Olympians" project begins by visiting two primary schools “Bedri Elezaga” in Ulcinj and “Mirko Srzentic” in Petrovac. The project was supported by the International Olympic Committee through its Olympic Solidarity Fund.
