The Handball Federation of Montenegro organised a ceremony to mark the anniversary and award appreciation plaques to the players and the national team's support personnel who won a silver medal at the London Olympics in 2012. President of the Handball Federation, Petar Kapisoda, awarded the plaques to the players and the support personnel, and the ceremony was attended by the President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee (MOC), Dušan Simonović, and the Minister of Sports and Youth, Vasilije Lalošević. In his address to our “Golden Lionesses”, the MOC President said that he remembered with affection that day from London and the golden year of sports in Montenegro. "This has been the greatest success since the renewal of our independence. Some people may disagree since I see that Olympic medals are being equated with other medals. But you have those other medals, but yours, nobody. So, we will try to make it right, because the Olympic Games cannot be equated with either the World Cup or the European Championship. I've tried to make this right before but counting on a great relationship with Minister Lalošević, I believe now is the time to do it. The motion will be initiated today. In time, new Olympic medals will come, but the silver medal from London will be the most important medal, because it is our first. In Olympism only athletes get Olympic medals and it is yours and no one can take it away from you, and no one can share it with you. Your result will be remembered as well as your “Dream Team from London”.
