The International Olympic Academy organised the 42nd EOC Seminar, followed by the Regional Forum focusing on the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024. In his welcome speech, the President of the EOC, Mr. Spyros Capralos, emphasised the importance of the European week of Sport and shared some details about the promotion of the EOC and related activities. President Capralos noted that 2023 would be a very exciting sports year in Europe, with four multisport competitions: the winter and summer edition of the EYOF, which would be held in Italy and Slovenia, the Games of the Small States of Europe, which would be held in Malta and the European Games, which would be held in Poland next year. The EOC Secretary General, Mr. Raffaele Pagnozzi, in his address to the delegates at the seminar, emphasised that great things were never done by one person, but by a team of people. On that occasion, the Secretary General informed members that the topics that were discussed at the Seminar came from feedback from the European NOCs and gave an update on the latest activities of the EOC. During the first day of the seminar, the reports were also provided by Mrs. Gunilla Lindberg, ANOC Secretary General, Mrs. Pamela Vipond, IOC Olympic Solidarity Deputy Director, and Chair of the Agenda 2030 Working Group, Mr. Đorđe Višacki. At the end of the first day of the seminar, the Piotr Nurowski Best European Young Athlete Prize was also awarded, and this year's award was given to Serbian athlete Angelina Topić. On the second day of the seminar, Chair of the Coordination Commission Hasan Arat, President of the Polish Olympic Committee Andrzej Kraśnicki and President of the Organising Committee Marcin Nowak presented the Report for the European Games Krakow – Malopolska 2023. Delegates heard more information about the EOC sports program and reports for the previous and next edition of the Summer and Winter European Youth Olympic Festival, as well as for the next edition of the Games of the Small States of Europe. Panel on Marketing, Communications and Social Media was organised during the second day of the seminar, and the Greek EPATHLA Project related to combating manipulation in sports competitions was also presented.
