Eight candidates are in the running for the best athlete of the year award in Montenegro. Based on the proposals of the national sports federations, the candidates for athlete of the year in 2022 are: Marija Vuković, high jump; Marko Bojić, volleyball; Jovanka Radičević, handball; Vasilije Jakšić, auto racing; Milena Jovanović, karate; Elizaveta Lugovskih, gymnastics; Bojana Gojković, boxing and Arso Milić, jiu jitsu. The members of the Executive Board of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee and the Montenegrin public vote for the athlete of the year and voting via the web application will be open from Sunday (December 18th) to Wednesday (December 21st). With the support of the Telco operator One, the Olympic network of Montenegro, special attention was paid to the regularity of voting via the Internet. Thus, with additional security protocols, the possibility of misuse is reduced. The winner of the online vote will receive two points. The decision on the athlete of the year will be made by the Executive Board of MOC, at the meeting on December 22nd.
