Six medals for our athletes on the third day of competition at the Games of the Small States of Europe, a total of 13 so far. Our women's judo team won gold in the team competition. Milana Stevanović (up to 52 kg), Tamara Gardašević (up to 63 kg), and Ivana Šunjević (up to 70 kg) had a bye in the first round, then surpassed their rivals from Cyprus, and in the fight for gold, they were better than Monique Kedinger, Anetta Mosr, and Lene Schmit from Luxembourg. Previously, the three of them won medals in the individual competition - Šunjević silver, Gardašević and Stevanović bronze. "We did not expect this result, we are happy because we achieved great success. I didn't even fight in my own category, but in a stronger one. We succeeded, we move on, this is an incentive for new responsibilities," said Ivana Šunjević. Our male judokas - Emil Sinanović (up to 66 kg), Nikola Gardašević (up to 81 kg), Danilo Pantić (up to 100 kg) - won the bronze medal in the team competition at the Games of the Small States of Europe. They defeated Andorra in the first round, then lost to Cyprus, and in the fight for third place, they defeated Liechtenstein (3-0). Gardašević won gold in the individual competition, while Pantić and Sinanović won silver. Two more medals from athletics competitions - after Danijela Furtula's gold in discus throw, Tomaš Đurović and Risto Drobnjak won medals in shot put. Đurović won silver with a result of 18.36 meters, and Drobnjak won bronze with a distance of 17.83 meters. The first place went to Bob Bertemes from Luxembourg with an impressive 20.51 meters. Darko Pešić finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles race (14.73), missing the bronze by one-tenth of a second. Pešić also competed in the long jump, finishing fifth with a result of 6.59 meters. The first two medals from the table tennis tournament - two bronzes - were won in doubles. Ivona Petrić and Simona Perović defeated the doubles team from Cyprus in the group stage but were defeated by the duo from Monaco. In the semifinals, they were defeated by the Maltese pair Jakob-Strbikova 3-1. Filip Radović and Filip Radulović won against Andorra in the group stage but lost to Wetzel and Prokopcov (Malta) 3-0 in the semifinals. The Montenegrin women's basketball team suffered an unexpected and sensational defeat at the Games of the Small States of Europe. The "Reds" lost to Cyprus 63-59. The outcome had to be like that with a shooting percentage of only 27.1% (19/70), with only three successful three-pointers out of 17 attempts, and nine missed free throws... Božica Mujović scored 15 points, and Milica Jovanović scored 14 for the Montenegrin team. "We are preparing for the European Championship, and we paid attention to some things that we need for the first three games in the big competition. We tried out many new things on the court today, and I think that's why there was a drop in our game. We will try to correct our mistakes tomorrow against the same opponent and improve our impression. We entered the game fatigued, not underestimating our opponents. Some things simply didn't align," said Milica Jovanović. The "Reds" will have a chance to seek revenge against Cyprus tomorrow at 4:45 PM, as they will meet in the semifinals. Our men's basketball team reacted after yesterday's unexpected defeat to Malta and won against the Cyprus team with a score of 80-70 in the final round of the group stage at the Games of the Small States of Europe. Montenegro will play against Malta again in the semifinals, scheduled for tomorrow at 7 PM. In the victory against Cyprus, Nenad Vuković and Balša Živanović were the top scorers with 18 points each, Viktor Vujisić scored 12, and Filip Anđušić added ten points. In sailing, after seven stages, our representatives are at the top - Milivoj Dukić is first, Ilija Marković is second. Dukić and Marković have two more days of competition ahead of them.
