RetrOlympics, an event organized by the Montenegrin Olympic Committee and Portonovi, with the support of Olympic Solidarity, was held in a wonderful atmosphere. Through this unique event, we were reminded of numerous, practically forgotten games that have delighted generations. Most importantly, we gave younger people the idea of how to have extra fun without the use of modern technology. In addition, it promoted physical activity, competition in the spirit of fair play, and respect for the fundamental principles of Olympism. That was indeed one of the main reasons for gathering, looking ahead to the Olympic Games in Paris 2024. Smiles dominated Central Park, as did cheerful youth enjoying themselves throughout our courses. Musical chairs, blind man's bluff, and limbo generated real excitement. Speed, thinking, coordination, as well as a sense of orientation, were all displayed by the youngsters in these games. Marbles, hopscotch, dice, and elastic bands opened up entirely new horizons in terms of creatively spending free time. A lot of noise, joy, and twists occurred in the "Don't get mad, man" game area. Moreover, it was a completely different experience when you were actually a game piece. Winning was more desired, and the gameplay was much more entertaining. The biggest competition was seen in the game "Between Two Fires." As expected, successful moves and victories brought the most joy. Most importantly, fair play dominated here too, embracing the motto that participating is important. Portonovi was visited by numerous athletes due to RetrOlympics. Swimmer Anđela Antunović could share impressions from the last Olympic Games where she competed in Tokyo. Several water polo players who answered the call are hoping to fully experience the charms of the Olympic Games in Paris. Jovan Vujović, Vasilije Radović, Ilija Radović, Darko Đurović, Martin Gardašević, Danilo Radović, and Uroš Vučurović were having fun with the crowd. "This is the second promotion on the road to Paris. We had the opportunity to hang out with children and go back to childhood. An excellent chance for us to have fun and reminisce about the old days," said our water polo player Vučurović. Challenges in the life of a professional athlete were also shared by volleyball players Melisa Cenović and Dijana Vuković. "It's my pleasure to be here. This is just a part of what the Montenegrin Olympic Committee is preparing for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. It's a great experience for children to get acquainted with athletes, but also sports. There are many games here, so no one is bored, neither children nor adults. And this location in Portonovi is great for such an event; I think we all enjoy it," highlighted Melisa. The caravan of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee does not stop; get ready for new exciting events.
